Basking Shark

Giving prolonged close views, this was one of the highlights of Scilly, October 2009. Photographed from the cliffs 8 m above the calm waters at Tolman Point, this tested my head for heights - and one wouldn't want to fall into its open jaws, however benevolent the beasts are rumoured to be!
