Willow Grouse

Willow Grouse (Lagopus lagopus) - near-relative of the British Red Grouse (L. lagopus scoticus). This species proved difficult to see or tape-lure out. Luckily I spotted this one as we sped by while it rested 15 m from the roadside in woodland cover. A shout of 'stop!' and some quick reversing did the trick, allowing good views...
